Volunteering

Except from standard and unique different safaris we also offer volunteering holidays whereby you can combine charity work with a safari.

We have several projects we work with and are honored to offer you the opportunity to share your quality time with helping the poor and or needed children and elderly. This is for us a Non Profit element of a safari!

In Uganda we have a school we assist ‘Edukey for Kids’ offering children of poor families the chance to become independent by giving them quality high standard lessons.

Here you can volunteer by giving lessons, like computer skills, cooking, English, grammar or any thing you can teach them. You can guide the children during excursions, visit their homes to get to know more about their daily lifes and organize sport activities.

You can come for one week or longer and you work 5 days from monday till friday.

You will stay in a small hostel nearby where you have your own room or share with another volunteer. Cost of this project is 250 usd per week including accommodation and breakfast.

Bwindi Community Hospital is a private, not-for-profit that was founded by U.S missionaries Dr. Scott and his wife Carol Kellerman under the Diocese of Kinkiizi, Church of Uganda way back in 2003. It began as an outreach clinic under a tree for the Batwa pygmies, who had been evicted from Bwindi Impenetrable forest when it was gazetted a mountain gorilla sanctuary.

You can volunteer here when you have the requested medical skills to work in a hospital. It is possible to do your internship here. You will be supervised by professionals.

You will stay in the hospital’s guesthouse. The cost to volunteer is $ 750 per two weeks and includes guidance before, during and after the period of volunteering, accommodation at the guesthouse with three meals per day.
If you want to receive information to find out if you are entitled to do internship in the hospital you can sent us an email at volunteering@ivoryandpearls.com

If you don’t have medical skills you can join activities with the Batwa community!

You can stay in the guesthouse at a rate of 50 usd per night including three meals.

You can also choose to stay in a lodge nearby which you can book yourself or with our help and volunteer for free within the community. Note: any donation is highly appreciated.
