Elephant Hab lodge
Location: Elephant Hab Lodge is a luxury safari lodge on the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in the spectacular Kyambura Gorge, approximately 10 minutes’ drive from the chimpanzee tracking point. Elephant Hab Lodge is positioned in elephant habitat so you can often see herds grazing from the lobby and balcony of your cottage, hence the name and another commonly seen sight at the lodge are the velvet monkeys that welcome you to the compound .
Accommodation: Deluxe cottages are spacious private cabins with the cozy warm decoration of brown traditional wood. Like the luxury cottages, the standard private cabins are spacious with king-size traditional wooden beds.
Room Facilities: The luxury and standard cottages (single, double, triple and family cottages) have comfortable king-size beds made of wood with luxurious white bed linen, cotton African baseboards and locally made carpets at the foot of them. An airy white mosquito net hangs from the ceiling. The cottages have a private wooden deck with African chairs and views of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The bathroom has a shower and toilet.
Restaurant: there is a restaurant.
Facilities: lounge, wifi, swimming pool.
Activities: While staying at Elephant Hab Lodge you can enjoy a variety of exciting activities including boat trips, bird watching and game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is home to more than 95 mammal species and over 600 bird species. The Katwe explosion craters mark the park’s highest point at 1350 m above sea level, while the lowest point is at 910 m, at Lake Edward.
Visiting Chimpanzees: The Kyambura Game Reserve experience is more than discovering chimpanzees in their natural environment: it teaches visitors about the ecosystems of Kyambura Gorge’s atmospheric “underground” rainforest, including vegetation types; identification and behavior of birds; chimpanzees and monkey ecology.
