Eagle’s Nest lodge
Location: Located on a high hill bordering Lake Mburo National Park, this tented camp not only has one of the best views in Uganda, it is also the ultimate African canvas experience.
Accommodation: Eagle’s Nest consists of 10 African safari tents with verandas overlooking Lake Mburo National Park. Each room is furnished with two separate beds. From your private veranda you can enjoy an amazing view of Lake Mburo National Park. If you are lucky, you can see the zebras grazing in the park.
In addition to the safari tents with their own sanitary facilities, Eagle’s Nest offers basic tents. These are comfortably furnished with 2 single beds with a bedside table and a socket for charging your electrical equipment. All tents are under a grass thatched roof, giving you a private terrace and some welcome shade. These tents share a communal toilet block with showers and toilets. No need to worry about linens as all linens and towels are provided.
Room Facilities: Each safari tent has its own veranda overlooking the park. The bathrooms are real bush experiences: the shower is filled at your request and the toilet is a new eco-friendly invention.
Restaurant: The reception/restaurant/bar building is located in the middle of the campsite. During your dinner you will hear the sounds of the bush: lions roaring, crickets chirping and bush pigs growling. Dinner is prepared as they do in Southern Africa on potjiekos.
Activities: Hiking: Unusually, the entire park is open to hikers as long as accompanied by a ranger guide. Locations include the salt lick at Rwonyo, the shores of the lake, the Rubanga Forest, and a hilltop with sweeping views of the lake. Fishing: Lake Mburo contains about six species of fish, with tilapia being the most common. The preferred fishing spot is at Mazinga. You can also go horseback riding and take a boat trip.
